Top 5 Wednesday & Blogmas Day 5: Favorite Christmas Films

Hello readers!
Today's post combines both a Blogmas post and a Top 5 Wednesday topic. I will be listing my favorite Christmas films.

1. How The Grinch Stole Christmas, 2000: I grew up in the 90's and when they 2000's hit we got some fire Christmas movies. To start us off was this gem. I have seen and I love the OG animated Grinch, however you cannot deny that this movie is a classic in every way. Jim Carrey did an amazing job as the Grinch, Faith Hill came through with that classic song, the costume designer for this entire movie hopefully got a fat bonus for how flossy everyone one, specifically Martha May Whovier. I loooooove this movie.

2. Elf, 2003: The only movie that can compare to the Grinch, is definitely Elf. I remember this coming out around my 13th birthday, my dad taking me, and thinking it was the best Will Ferrell movie ever. It still is such a classic, with the true meaning of Christmas conveyed in the funniest ways possible.

3. The Polar Express, 2004: Although I do not watch this one often, one of the first things I think of when it becomes the holiday season is the polar express. Here in Northern Nevada,we have a polar express. It starts at the railroad museum in Carson City and goes up to the old mining town, Virginia City. I've asked my husband every year to go and I still haven't made it yet. This year, I have a really good feeling about.

4. Frosty The Snowman, 1969: This movie is one that goes wayyyyyyy back for me. The version I had of this movie was a VHS recording from the CBS airing and at the very end I also had Santa Claus is Comin both from Rankin/Bass. I can't remember the plot now, but I remember watching these on repeat and getting anxiety of when the movies transferred because I lost like maybe 5 minutes from both.

5. Miracle of 34th St, 1947: Although I included this movie, I have never actually seen it. The reason why I included it is because I've seen the play before and so far it's my favorite play experience I've had to far. One of our not so regular traditions, that I will go into more depth about later, is going to see one of the Christmas plays at one of the casinos in Reno. The last one I saw was Miracle of 34th and it reminded me of how classic the story is. I love the setting they used of old New York, when Macy's or Sears was where you went for literally everything. Ah, it's like a time capsule of the most magical experience on Earth.

Let me know your favorite Christmas movies below!
