Top 5 Wednesday: Most anticipated books for 2019
Hello readers!
Today's topic is super easy, what are my most anticipated books for 2019.
1. The Wicked King by Holly Black: Like, do I need to elaborate? I managed to finish The Cruel Prince in August. The reason I use the term "manage" is not because the book was terrible, I actually loved it so much I was terse that it ended so soon. Just when the juice was getting worth the squeeze we were left with Jude and Cardan planning to over-turn the current events on who would take the throne. I NEED THIS SOONER, OKAY!?
2. Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff: This series has been super fun to read. In a world full of "female assassin" lead characters, Kristoff still managed to make this story extremely original in all aspects. This book has such an aesthetic to it, I just can't even.
3. King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo: I am planning, and praying, and crossing all of my fingers that I will finish the Shadow & Bone trilogy prior to this. I don't think it's necessary, but I sometimes am a glutton for punishment so I need to make sure I'm good and emotionally damaged for this release.
4. Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff: As someone who was late to the Illuminae train, or space ship... whatever, I am super excited for another Sci-Fi series from this duo. I don't expect it to be like the Illuminae files, however that's one of the factors I'm most excited about. Space is huge okay, so there are many options.
5. Wicked Saints by Emily Duncan: I haven't heard much about this, though I see it's on a few of my go-to reviewers TBR and that makes me excited. The reviews say it's like a darker version of the Shadow & Bone trilogy and although I haven't read the latter, I am all for dark and twisty.
Let me know what you are excited for next year as well!
